AN EPIC ADVENTURE INTO ART
Step into a vast new world as THE LUME Colorado celebrates the genius of Salvador Dalí. Ready to delight each of your senses, the incredible works of Dalí are brought to life as epic-scale masterpieces 20 feet high are woven together with stunning musical soundscapes, evocative aromas and playful interactive installations.
You’ve probably seen the Salvador Dalí masterpiece The Persistence of Memory (the melting clock painting) before, and likely The Hallucinogenic Toreador or Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of the New Man; some of the most instantly recognizable and celebrated surrealist art in history.
But we are certain you’ve never experienced the works of Salvador Dalí like this.
Please note that Dali Alive will close on January 29th.
Featurettes: THE LUME Digital arts program
Following the feature presentation a selection of short featurettes will showcase work from THE LUME Digital Arts Program. The Program aims to foster and celebrate the talent of established and emerging digital media artists in Australia by providing a highly visible, powerful showcase on the world stage.
Select artists and collectives are invited to create a short piece showcasing original digital art. Each piece will be rewarded financially and given a truly unique exposure opportunity. The three current featurettes that accompany the Van Gogh experience at THE LUME Melbourne are detailed below:
COLOURFUL DREAM
by 77 Productions
A mesmerising and abstract elemental (fluid & earth) dream sequence about Van Gogh creating and preparing his paints for his creative exploration. Colourful pigments and clear liquids bind and form the beautifully vibrant collisions of colour from Van Gogh’s paintings, revealing hidden objects in a fluid-filled dream.

INSIDE OUT

Inside Out is a surrealist journey through time and space. Bridging the gap between a physical reality and a stylised perspective of the extraordinary, Inside Out descends through layers of modernism scenes bursting with shapes and colour. Emotional, cinematic and bizarre, it is a homage to the artistic mind of Vincent van Gogh.

OUR STARRY NIGHT

The First Nations Peoples of Australia are the world’s oldest practitioners of astronomy. Our Starry Night is an immersive dance film which is inspired by the ‘Emu in the Sky’ constellation, and the deep and complex connection Indigenous Australians have with astronomical phenomena. This artwork not only presents a visual experience of dance like never before – it also flips the typical relationship between dancer and composer; rather than dance to the music – in this performance, the music responds to the dance.

Stretch your limbs and realign your mind, body, and spirit while surrounded by new, never-before-seen themes, including Oceanic Dive, Tranquil Rainforests and the awe-inspiring Magnificent Himalayas. Each week will feature a fresh, mesmerizing theme, all designed to immerse yogis into a calming and tranquil setting, along with beautiful matching soundtracks and THE LUME Colorado's signature aromas to ignite every single sense.
